The University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) Edible Landscaping (EL) team just launched a music video that showcases this kind of food production technology.
Apparently, the project has started in 2009 with the partnership of UPLB and the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR). EL is a new approach that merges science and arts in crop production and the UPLB EL project is led by Chancellor Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr.
The launch of the music video, which you can watch above, happened last Aug. 26 at the Sequoia Hotel in Diliman, Quezon City. Pop singer Kyle Echarri performed the song “Tara! Mag Edible Landscaping Na!” UPLB’s Jascha Emmanuel A. Dadap and Von Jelmar P. Herbosa, BS Agricultural Biotechnology students, and Maria Charito E. Balladares, UPLB EL co-project leader and university researcher composed the song.
The music video shows the EL demo garden located at the heart of UPLB and the gardens of those who have adopted the technology in their own homes and institutions.
