In 2006, we were treated to Death Note, a creepy Japanese manga turned movie about a notebook that gives the owner the power to kill someone when their name is written. A sequel was released the same year and a spin-off was filmed in 2008, and fans have kept their passion alive by keeping Death Note memorabilia and dressing up as its characters in cosplay.

Ten years after the films came out, a new sequel will be released! It’s called Death Note: Light Up the New World, and follows the same concept, except there are six notebooks around the world that’s causing widespread deaths. It will be released on October 29, 2016.

Next year, Death Note will have an American adaptation, starring Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Keith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi, and Shea Whigham. Willem Dafoe is set to voice Ryuk.
