Lady Gaga is a pop superstar who released her latest album Joanne, named after her aunt who passed away due to lupus 12 years before Gaga was born. According to Gaga, she had a strong connection to her Aunt Joanne, saying, “It’s everything about Joanne … it’s all the toughness of the pain of losing her that made us all strong and made us who we are. She is the woman of my past who is becoming and helping me bring more of my honest woman self into the future.”
The album has the singles “A-Yo,” “John Wayne,” “Illusion,” and “Million Reasons.”
It became successful, joining many year-end lists when it debuted in 2016 and receiving a nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
