WATCH: This Is How INTENSE These Students Said Goodbye to Their Retiring Teacher

This was how these young men from Palmerston North Boys’ High School in New Zealand said goodbye to their retiring teacher and the school’s guidance counselor, Mr. John Adams. Apparently, their teacher was retiring to move closer to his family and spend more time with them.

What they performed is the Farewell Haka, “a traditional war cry, dance, or challenge from the Māori people of New Zealand”.

According to Wikipedia, “Haka is a posture dance performed by a group, with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment”.

This is an all-male Haka performance. There’s also a female version of the Haka like this video below.
