Last year, Die Beautiful made a lot of noise when it premiered at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival. The film, which revolved around the life of a transgender woman who had died after being crowned Binibining Gay Pilipinas, was greatly received around the country and even internationally after winning the Audience Choice Award in the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival.
Die Beautiful also became a showcase of Paolo Ballesteros’ and newcomer Christian Bables’ talents, winning them both acting awards from the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival.
After the death of Trisha (Paolo Ballesteros’ character), we are left to wonder what happens to her loving BFF, Barbs (played by Christian Bables). Well, fans will have to wonder no more because Barbs is coming back.
And she’s not just coming back through a sequel film. She’s going to be the star of her very own series.
Born Beautiful will be a spin-off/sequel to Die Beautiful, and it’s going to be all about Barbs. Check out the trailer below:
There are no details yet as to when it will premiere, but honestly, I’m just genuinely delighted that such a thing is happening.

I think that Barbs, as a character, deserves to have her own spotlight. And Christian Bables, as an actor, also definitely deserves to be the star of his own show.
