Mulan Trailer

Disney fans, we have great news for you: the full-length trailer of Mulan is here and it looks fantastic!

Watch it below:

In the new clip, we get to see the iconic scene where the young woman takes her father’s place to join the army. We also get to see more of the cast, including Liu Yifei as the titular character, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung (who trains Mulan), Yoson An as Chen Honghui (Mulan’s ally and love interest), Tzi Ma as Mulan’s father, Rosalind Chao as Mulan’s mother, and Jet Li as the Emperor of China. It also introduces Gong Li as Xian Lang, a powerful witch who serves as the film’s villain.

The story of Mulan is based on the legend of Hua Mulan, a Chinese warrior from the Southern and Northern Dynasties period (420–589), who took the place of her aging father in the army. She helps defend China from invaders, and instead of accepting an official post, she returns home to her family.

The story was adapted by Disney in 1998, which received critical and commercial success. Rotten Tomatoes described it as “Exploring themes of family duty and honor, Mulan breaks new ground as a Disney film, while still bringing vibrant animation and sprightly characters to the screen.”

The live action adaptation of Mulan is set to be released on March 27, 2020.
