With the recent results of the US presidency elections that shocked the whole world, we look back at pop culture for some clues we might have missed as a foreshadowing to the near future. In a Simpsons episode from the year 2000, Lisa is elected as the first straight female president after the reign of Donald Trump, which has left the USA struggling financially.
In this episode, Bart visits Washington where Lisa is giving a press conference.
She later walks into the oval office with her team and they talk about the USA’s current state and how the former administration (Trump’s) left the country broke with its past programs.
