Yesterday morning, the world lost Prince, a legendary performer who redefined creative freedom and artistry. He was found unresponsive in an elevator at Paisley Park Studios in Minnesota, US, and was confirmed dead by his publicist. There are still no details about the cause of death.

When he was alive, he was known for his diverse work, electrifying stage presence, and impressive vocal range. Prince has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and is regarded as one of the best-selling artists of all time, with seven Grammys, one Golden Globe, and an Academy Award.

One of his legendary performances was in 2007 at the Super Bowl halftime show.

He performed “We Will Rock You,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Baby I’m a Star,” “Proud Mary,” “All Along the Watchtower,” “Best of You,” and “Purple Rain.” And the best part? He sang “Purple Rain” while it was raining. Producers were worried about performing in the rain, but Prince pushed through with the show, with Billboard ranking it as the greatest Super Bowl performance ever.
