Well, what do you know, Jon Snow can joke! Actor Kit Harington briefly got rid of his serious character on the popular TV series Game of Thrones to join Elmo’s #ShareTheLaughter campaign by sharing a joke.
Harington’s Game of Thrones cast-mates Gwendoline Christie and Sophie Turner also shared a joke with Elmo. TV personalities such as Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi and Broad City’s Ilana Glazer took on Elmo’s challenge, too.
So did Josh Groban, country singer Andy Grammer, pop star Alessia Cara, and singer-songwriter John Legend. Even Olympic athletes, snowboarder Shaun White and alpine skier Lindsay Vonn, shared the laughter as well.

#ShareTheLaughter was launched by Sesame Street on August 16 (during the National Tell A Joke Day) to spread kindness through jokes. In the kickoff video, comedian Kate McKinnon shares a joke with Elmo and challenges Cookie Monster to make a video of his own.
