WATCH: Davao City Torotot Festival 2015

While everyone was in awe watching the fireworks display here and abroad, there was one city that welcomed the New Year very differently: Davao City.

Since Davao City banned the use of firecrackers and fireworks since 2002, the wonderful city welcomes the New Year by simultaneously blowing party horns or torotot. The Davao City claimed the Guinness Book of World Records for the “most number of people blowing party horns simultaneously” last 2014.

According to Wikipedia, the officials recorded and tallied a total number of 7,568 people gathered last 2014 to beat Japan’s 6,900 people.

On the other hand, it has been a Filipino tradition every New Year’s Eve to make as much noise as we can to drive away all negative vibes.

I was just smiling the whole time when I saw the video shared by Cocoy Sexcion. In the video, you will see children laughing, people dancing, and simply enjoying the said festival!
