WATCH Daniel Padilla and Janella Salvador Sing Breakfast at Tiffany's Classic Moon River

“Moon River” is a song composed by Henry Mancini for the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The same year, it won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. It’s an old song that won’t get recognized by teenagers and millennials today, so it’s a bit of a surprise that teenage heartthrob Daniel Padilla sang it with young actress Janella Salvador.

The two sang the classic hit on ABS-CBN’s ASAP, and netizens reacted positively to the two’s chemistry and vocal prowess. On YouTube, commenters noted how they look good together and how their voices blended.

Padilla entered showbiz as the nephew of action star Robin Padilla, but he made his name in the show Princess and I. He and his partner Kathryn Bernardo became showbiz’s hottest couple, starring in shows and movies together. He released his self-titled album in 2012, which reached double platinum.

Salvador started acting with a role in the hit show Be Careful With My Heart. Like Padilla, she also has a self-titled album. Just last year, Hong Kong Disneyland chose her to represent the Philippines to sing the park’s 10th year anniversary song “Happily Ever After.”
