According to celebrity chef and host of Bizarre Foods, Andrew Zimmern, Filipino food is the next big thing when it comes to food trend in America.
He said in an interview with Entertainment Insider that Filipino food is getting more and more popular as the years go by.
In America, he believes that they have been obsessed for many decades when it comes to ‘appropriating food from different ethnicities.” For instance, there was a time when Chinese food was the trend in America. Although it is still mainstream, food choices from other ethnicities like Japanese food and Thai Food are slowly trying to catch up.
Now, he firmly believes (actually for the last five years or so already) that Filipino food will go mainstream in America soon. He said that it has something to do with the ingredients and the technique.
