The trailer shows them meeting for the first time in a coffee shop where they talk about the popular break-up film, Celeste and Jesse Forever, that’s also their namesake. Celeste then says that she doesn’t want to be “Facebook friends,” implying that their one-night stand was just what it is. A few years after, they meet again, and Jesse says it took him a long time to forget about it. They then speculate whether it might be destiny.
