It’s an exciting time to be in Cuba! After 700 celebrities, models, and fashion’s cognoscenti trooped to Havana for the Chanel cruise collection fashion show, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson visited the Caribbean nation to shoot Fast 8, the eight installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise.

The film’s official Twitter account revealed a behind-the-scenes look of the shoot in Cuba, where the stars were warmly welcomed by the locals. It is reportedly one of the first Hollywood films to be shot there since the US and Cuba fixed their diplomatic relations. In the BTS look, the sports cars were replaced by antique Cuban rides.

The last seven films have made $4 billion around the world, becoming one of Universal’s biggest franchises of all time. Fast 8 will be the second in the franchise not to star Paul Walker, who passed away in a single-vehicle crash in 2013 while trying to raise funds for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Samar and Leyte.

Fast 8 is directed by F. Gary Gray, and will premiere April 14, 2017.

According to Diesel, it will be the first of a new trilogy.
