The MTV Video Music Awards was held this morning (Philippine time) at The Forum in California, where they recognized the best music videos released from June 25, 2016 to June 23, 2017. Katy Perry hosted this year’s run and as always, the show was packed with performances from some of pop’s most talented performers (along with the premiere of Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” music video).

Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry”
Demi Lovato performed her hit “Sorry Not Sorry,” the first single from her upcoming album Tell Me You Love Me.
Pink’s “Get the Party Started,” “Raise Your Glass,” “So What,” “F$%*in’ Perfect,” “Just Give Me a Reason,” “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” and “What About Us”
Pink was definitely the star of the night, who performed her greatest hits, some dating back to her Missundaztood album.
Kyle’s “iSpy”
Kyle performed his song “iSpy,” which Complex praised for its “stop-start kick drums, its sweet charming tone, and the evident fun of its screwball lyrics.”
James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go”
There is no video available of this performance.
Alessia Cara’s “Scars to Your Beautiful”
Alessia Cara performed “Scars to Your Beautiful,” the singer’s second top-ten single on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Logic, Khalid, and Alessia Cara’s “1-800-273-8255”
Khalid and Cara returned to the stage to perform “1-800-273-8255” with Logic. The title of the song is actually the phone number of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and Logic closed the performance with a rousing speech encouraging everyone to speak up on mental health.
Thirty Seconds to Mars and Travis Scott’s “Walk on Water”
Thirty Seconds to Mars and Travis Scott performed “Walk on Water,” which will be included in the band’s upcoming album.
Rod Stewart and DNCE’s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”
DNCE covered Rod Stewart’s timeless classic “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and added a spunk to it. The best part? Stewart came out to sing with the band!
Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj’s “Swish Swish”
Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj closed the night by singing “Swish Swish,” a single from her latest album Witness. It is reportedly about her feud with Taylor Swift, who launched her latest music video (reportedly about all the people who wronged her). Swift, by the way, did not show up.
