For those worried that Alice Through the Looking Glass director James Bobin won’t be able to bring the same amount of surrealism Tim Burton brought for its prequel Alice in Wonderland, worry not, because the second trailer of Looking Glass was recently released and looks to be as action-packed and whimsical as the first (Burton is also producing the sequel).
In Alice Through the Looking Glass, Alice returns to Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter. It is slightly different to Through the Looking Glass, the novel sequel to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The 2010 adaptation Alice in Wonderland is based on both Carroll books.
Mia Wasikowska returns as Alice, as do Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. They will be joined by Sacha Baron Cohen as Time and Rhys Ifans as the Mad Hatter’s father.
Alice Through the Looking Glass will premiere May 27, 2016.
