WATCH: A Beautiful Mess of the Black Nazarene Procession

Last weekend, the annual Black Nazarene procession took place. The procession started Saturday at the Quirino Grand Stand in Manila, going around selected routes in Manila and then ending at the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene or Quiapo Church.

A huge crowd of devotees from all over the country attended this traditional procession.

Novus Luna, from Team Chris Librojo, sent us a video of a part of the Black Nazarene procession. From the clip, you can see the three stages of coordinated movement done to move the Black Nazarene – pull, stop, and push. All of these are signaled by a whistle blow of the person-in-charge.

The video may show a messy crowd of people gathered around the Black Nazarene but upon knowing the coordinated movement, it seems like a beautiful mess amidst the sea of devotees.

Take a look.
