WATCH: 21-Year-Old has Developed a Prototype that Can Clean the World’s Oceans

What were you doing when you were 21 years old? University? A young corporate employee? Job hunting? Partying? Going through a quarter-life crisis? For most of us, we fall under at least one of these categories. For most of us. But for 21-year-old Boyan Slat, his 21st year is being spent spearheading an initiative called The Ocean Cleanup, where he is the CEO and founder. Slat invented a prototype that can clean the world’s oceans up in a massive way, and is creating waves for himself across the globe too, for his creation.

Slat’s invention is incredible, and if the initial tests for his project succeeds, the world will have its first massive international ocean cleanup by the year 2020. This is clearly a game-changer. Find out more about The Ocean Cleanup here.

Of course, prevention is still better than cure, so the best way to clean up the ocean is to not pollute it in the first place. Always dispose your trash responsibly, and let’s all help each other in saving our oceans. <3
