While some people think it’s silly to celebrate the success of every Filipino that we hear about around the world, I am not ashamed to admit that I always beam with pride whenever someone sends us a “Pinoy pride” story to share.
One recent one is from Jonar Jeffrey Cantos, who shared this video of his niece Ashley singing a song by Evanescence during her blind auditions for The Voice Germany. And while he shared it mostly because he was proud of his niece, I am sharing it now because I am proud of budding Filipino talent, regardless of where they might be in the world. And honestly, this kid is awesome! And so is her mom! So much so that the judges of The Voice Germany were completely in awe when Ashley’s mom came out to sing with her. Watch them sing here:
