Wanted: 30,000 Senior High School Teachers for SY 2016-2017, Says DepEd

When the Department of Education or DepEd implemented the K-12 system during the school year 2012-2013, the whole nation was pessimistic since Philippines’ Education System wasn’t prepared to acquire such.  Moreover, parents were appalled since it’s going to add on to their major fixed expenses like the tuition fee.  Apparently, in its 3rd year of acquisition, the DepEd lacks teachers for the upcoming school year.

According to ABS-CBN’s late night news, Bandila, DepEd is looking to hire more than 30,000 senior high school (Grade 11-12) teachers for the school year 2016-2017. As mentioned in the news, the hiring process has already started to ensure the quality of education is intact.

“Maari po silang magsumite yung kanila pong Letter of Intent and dapat nakapaloob po dun, sinasabi kung ano po yung track or strength.” (Interested teachers may submit their Letter of Intent that states their track or strength.) ASEC for DepEd Tonisto Umali

However, according to Zenie Lim, Administrative Secretary of Alliance of Concerned Teachers, since teachers are obliged to teach more years, they must be trained to be more equipped for the K-12 system. For more information, watch the video below:
