After losing presidential bid, outgoing senator Miriam Defensor Santiago informed the senate that she will end her on medical leave due to cancer.
On her letter to the senate that is going viral on social media, she said that she is now suffering from anorexia (inability to eat), which is making her weak.

In the past, she has already been on medical leave. In 2014, she revealed that she has been suffering from Stage 4 lung cancer.
