VIRAL: Enforcer Asked Students Caught Jaywalking Sing ‘Lupang Hinirang’ or Recite ‘Panatang Makabayan’

Back in the day, when cops or traffic enforcers get you for jaywalking, they would either lock you up or pay a fine. Now, a traffic enforcer has changed the rule.

How? Let’s read the viral story shared by Ru Masungi.

A Netizen by the name of Ru Masungi shared a post on Facebook that shows an unidentified traffic enforcer asking students caught jaywalking. But rather than sending them to jail, he asked them to either sing the national anthem OR recite the ‘panatang makabayan.’

I got the chance to talk to him the other day and he told me that he imposes these somehow harsh punishments to teach students how to follow the law. He added that he’s doing this not for his personal entertainment but to prevent pedestrians from getting hit by rushing vehicles coming from all sides of the intersection.

Here’s the full story about the viral post:

Kudos to this traffic enforcer who patrols the intersection along AUF-SCC. He forces jaywalkers (especially students) to either sing the National Anthem or recite the Panatang Makabayan.

He added that he’s doing this not for his personal entertainment but to prevent pedestrians from getting hit by rushing vehicles coming from all sides of the intersection.

If you get the chance to visit AUF, please give him a bottle of water or thank him because he is doing a great job. Or better yet, for the love of everything that is holy, do not jaywalk.

PHOTO CREDITS TO MY FRIEND’S FRIEND WHO SENT ME THIS. I DID NOT TAKE THIS PHOTO NOR I CLAIM OWNERSHIP TO IT.

Personally, I love his unconventional take in disciplining the youngsters. Sometimes, they need to be reminded.

How about you, do you think it is better than sending them to jail or paying the fine? Your thoughts?
