VERVE 4: TranscendanceV4 SPON1

The University of the Philippines – Los Baños Street Jazz Dance Company has proven that they can rule the competition scene by their skill to perform complicated dances perfectly. With awe, we watched them conquer competition after competition to represent UPLB and spread their own style and flavor of hip-hop dance.

For 15 years, they were able to train and produce quality performers that represent the school in competitions and performances inside and outside the campus.  Starting in 2007, the group showcased the talents of its choreographers and dancers in their Verve Concert series; Starting with Verve 1: Style Expressed, Verve 2: Livin’ it UP, Livin’ it U.P. and Verve 3: Behind L.I.E.S (Living In Every Step) comes the latest installment in the series of awe-inspiring performances. This March 1, 2014 the UPLB SJDC will again be faithful in fulfilling their vision to uplift Hip-Hop dance as a legitimate art form.

For the benefit of the abandoned infants and sexually abused young women of CRIBS Foundation Inc., the UPLB Street Jazz Dance Company presents the 4th chapter of the Verve Concert series: “Transcendance: Beyond Movement, Beyond Dance”.

This benefit dance concert is co-presented by Hawk Bag and Solid Sun Builders, in partnership with ACTS Dance Academy, made possible by Marks and Spencer and Nestle and sponsored by Colt 45, Adarna House, Adobo Connection and Asia Brewery Incorporated.

“Verve 4: ‘Transcendance’” is happening this March 1 7pm at the Dioscoro L. Umali Hall. It will be a one-time big time showcase of art and passion for the hip-hop style of dance.
