           The Ateneo Shell EcoRacing Team (AtenECO) will be hosting its first ever vehicular launch, entitled the Launch ATNO 1, at Bellarmine Field in the Ateneo de Manila University on January 26, 2017. This event will officially unveil the team’s pioneer vehicle prototype, the ATNO 1, to the Shell Eco-marathon Racing competition– a race that calls upon young aspiring engineers worldwide to design and create the most energy efficient vehicle. In this race, the goal is to travel the farthest distance with a given amount of energy using the vehicle that the team has built. This launch marks the start of the many things to come. On February 3-5, a preliminary race in the Philippines will be held at the Clark International Speedway for the Philippine contingents of the Shell Eco-marathon. The main and final event will be held in Singapore on the 16th to the 19th of March at the Changi Exhibition Centre where teams all over Asia will compete to race not for speed but efficiency.
Hence to celebrate the team’s effort, the vehicle launch will feature performances of groups heralding from Ateneo’s very own school organizations such as AMP members Colin Salao and Jay Rebosa, the Medisingers, and soloists like Sofia Abrogar, Diego Joaquin, and Yassy Tolcidas.
