UP Los Banos music org UP Silakbo, known for its Silakbo Sessions, is set to introduce themselves as service musicians to a bigger audience this semester. Silakbo Sessions is a monthly activity where the org’s members perform together with SilakVodcasts, a series of vodcasts where members discuss the latest news, gigs, memes, and music.
In line with their values as a socio-cultural org, they are determined to uplift and support the independent music scene in Los Banos. UP Silakbo is going to bring some of the best independent acts in the country to UP Los Banos on May 4, 2017 at Baker Hall, UPLB for Areglo: A UP Silakbo Benefit Gig.
The gig will feature well-loved independent artists: Ang Bandang Shirley, Jensen and the Flips, Reese Lansangan, Cheats, and Tom’s Story, and some local acts such as Comic and Equals. Proceeds from the benefit gig would go to Mang Alexander Ortega, a blind man who plays the harmonica in Los Banos Junction; he comes from Quezon every single day.
Tickets are on sale for Php 250.00 before May 4, and Php 300 for walk-ins.
