In celebration of 25 years as an organization geared towards environmental initiatives and development, UP Green League (UPGL) will be having a week-long celebration, consisting of six events, from August 19 until August 26. Through these events, the organization hopes to spur the passion among the youth to live an environmentally-sustainable lifestyle. Enumerated below are the roster of the events during the anniversary week, and UPGL would like to invite each and every one to celebrate with them.
Ikaw at Eco – an Environmental Summit in partnership with DENR

The “Ikaw at Eco” environmental summit for high school students, is a one-day event that will hold contests during the morning session and conduct environmental talks in the afternoon. The summit has three primary objectives: a) to foster awareness among the youth about today’s environmental issues and concerns; b) to enrich the youth’s talents by engaging them in discourse, and expression through artistic and literary forms; c) and to mobilize the youth in crafting sustainable solutions that will alleviate our environmental conditions.
KaLIKHAsan – a week-long art exhibit

KaLIKHAsan is an art exhibit, which will showcase the beauty of nature in the perspective of various artists. Art displays vary from posters created by young students to environmentally-friendly goods and products.
AdhiKAIN – a bring-your-own-baunan grand pakain

AdhiKAIN: A Grand Pakain is a way of giving back to the community that continuously supports and advocates our mission. It’s also a manifestation of one of the stands of the organization: waste reduction. All students are welcome to drop by and eat as we help reduce waste by BYOB: Bringing Your Own Baunan.
Pagsisid – an environmental forum

It’s nearly four years after Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) yet its devastation remains. In Pagsisid, professors will reveal their findings on the impact of Haiyan on the reefs and mangroves of the heavily damaged municipalities, as well as the implication on the recovery of the said communities.
Sana Ako Naman – an open mic night for a cause

Showcasing local talents in the fields of music and spoken word art, Sana Ako Naman is an open mic night to show how art can be used to express our passion for the world where the natural environment is not taken for granted. Proceeds from the event would be donated to the chosen beneficiary.
