The UP Economics Society, as part of its annual month-long celebrations during its 57th Ecosoc Month, is holding a community service project called Homes for Humanity together with international NGO Habitat for Humanity. This initiative aims to bring and share the culture of active volunteerism to UP by involving the youth in the building of houses for the benefit of the less fortunate.

Answering the call to action, the UP Economics Society is spearheading the creation of a Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter in UP Diliman. Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that aims to transform lives through fostering responsible and sustainable communities, motivated by its vision of a world where everyone has a dignified place to live.

The launch on September 5 will immerse volunteers in an actual build for the community of Bistekville 4 in Culiat, Quezon City. The event is open to group and individual volunteers, and will be from 9AM to 5PM.
