When in Manila, we are good at inventing words! I’m not talking about lying okay lol. Over the years, we’ve been able to come up with words such as chorva chenes, beckies, eyow poh, kalerki, anda, hapontukin, tamuhhh!, and so much more. Some may find such words annoying but we use them anyway because…do we really need a reason? lol  Anyway read on and enjoy!

bagote – new mustache

bigsa – big boil

bikinini – bikini marks

cleofatra – a fat woman with a pretty face

cutetot – gentle (but deadly) fart

dumidorant – deodorant residue on armpit

galisgis – skin sores that resemble fish scales

himulmole – hair on a mole

hilikopter – to snore like a helicopter

kabayog – movements while riding a horse

kendilaro – play with candy in mouth

kilitirik – eyes rolling upward when tickled

kuringkingkong – large kurikong (King Kong)

Mudrama – drama queen mom

lasingtunado – off-key singing while tipsy

newnal – new mole

ngitinga – smile showing teeth with ‘tinga’ (food residues)

puhok – hair around a ‘whorl’ (puyo)

pidimpol – pimple on a dimple

spawis – perspiration you get in a spa

tingador – fork used to remove the tinga

tingago – to remove tinga secretly

thumbteks – thumb used for texting

trapikon – hot-tempered during traffic
