The Condura Skyway Marathon Run took an unexpected turn when two participants fainted and died en route to the finish line.
Posted in the Skyway Marathon’s official facebook page, 38-year-old Manases Alfon Jr. and 40-year-old Army Major Arnold Lubang both died while participating in the marathon to help send the children of fallen soldiers to school through the Hero Foundation.
Manases Alfon Jr. was running the 42km full marathon, while Major Arnold Lubang was running the 21km half marathon.
According to reports, Major Lubang was only a kilometer away from the finish line when he collapsed. He died on the way to a hospital in Muntinlupa City. While Manases Alfon came all the way from Cebu to participate in the marathon.
