Tribute to Steve Jobs: 15 Things You Didn’t Know About the Genius Behind Apple

When in Manila, majority of the gadgets that you see, whether it be a laptop or a phone, are most likely products of Apple. As you all know by now, Steve Jobs, the epitome of awesome, co-founder of Apple and the genius behind the Macintosh computer, iPod, iPhone and iPad, passed away this morning (Phils time) at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. With that being said, When in Manila would like to pay tribute to Steve Jobs by means of sharing trivia and a couple of the web’s funniest Steve Jobs memes:

I love trivia #12. Who would’ve imagined that a college drop out would not only change the world of technology, but play such a significant role in bettering the lives of millions of people all over the world?  Like the saying goes, “Change starts with us.” A saying that Steve Jobs truly epitomizes.

And now, we move on to a couple of fan made memes that have got netizens laughing their butts off:

Evolution Of Steve Jobs Fashion

The evolution of Steve Jobs’ wardrobe… Once again, as a billionaire he could have easily bought tons of designer clothes, and yet all through out the years, he sticks to his “uniform” of Levis jeans, a black turtleneck sweatshirt and New Balance sneakers.

Though his passing is indeed a great loss for the world of technology and of significance to most us, as his innovative products have played such a major role in our lives, I feel that it is important that we remember Steve Jobs‘ as he presented himself: a strong, hardworking man with a sense of humor who never allowed setbacks to hold him back. As I end this post, I’d like to leave you with my favorite lines taken from Steve Jobs’ commencement speech for the Stanford Batch 2005 graduates, “Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work…Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
