Manila traffic enforces will be required soon to wear body camera.

According to a post on the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the local government released a statement saying traffic enforcers of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) will soon wear body cameras to prevent “under-the-table” deals with apprehended traffic violators.

MTPB chief Dennis Alcoreza said that the recordings from the body cameras will be used in the event of something happens during officers apprehending violators.

Moreover, this will also serve as protection for traffic enforcers for any road mishaps that may happen.

At present, 92 traffic enforcers are undergoing training for this.

The body cameras are said to cost between P8,000 and P12,000.
