This Start-up is Rebuilding Communities Out of Recycled Plastic

One of today’s most pressing environmental concerns is plastic waste. It is estimated that about 300 million tons of plastic are produced globally every year, and only 8% of this is recycled.  With plastic produciton expected to double within the next 10 years, ByFusion PBC – a start-up based in Brooklyn, New York – came up with an ingenious technology with the same name to help with the plastic problem.

ByFusion is a 100% modular technology platform that converts all types of waste plastic into an alternative building material called RePlast.  Our eco-friendly process is a low emission and non-toxic way to “upcycle” plastic waste from our communities, coastlines, and landfills into a readily-usable new product.

ByFusion is capable of processing plastic collected from our oceans and coastlines and diverting millions of tons of plastic from landfills, saving taxpayers and municipal governments billions of dollars in costs, and creating jobs through local and regional business development.
