Or a place where road courtesy isn’t being practiced.

Because it’s like a tragedy waiting to happen. Hopefully, this story might encourage or inspire everyone to start taking the “don’t drink and drive” policy VERY seriously.

The story is originally shared by inspired.com, and it’s about an Alberta-based restaurant owner. According to the writer, in order to avoid drinking and driving, a drunk woman left her car at the restaurant after having a night out with her husband.

As we all know, if you are illegally parked or left your car unattended, establishments would either issue a ticket or tow your car. But, the wife was surprised to receive a different note stuck on her windshield.

Here’s what it read:

Dear Original Joe’s Sherwood Park Guest,

Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I’m not sure if you had consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed is voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible.

Life is valuable, have a great weekend.

The brilliant idea came from the managing partner of the restaurant, Jay McLean. As stated in the article, McLean started leaving notes on cars to motivate others not to drink and drive. In return, he gives those people freebies to continually fight drunk driving.

Such an inspiring move. Hopefully, there’s someone or an establishment who’d do the same.
