This “Pak Pinas!” campaign could be the best alternative to our tourism slogan

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you may know that the Department of Tourism recently launched a new tourism campaign with the theme “Experience the Philippines”, complete with a new commercial and all.

The latest tourism slogan of DOT was also launched

The new slogan, however, has met some lukewarm reception: while some were definitely all for the change, others had issues with the tagline and the new publicity materials, while there were those that wondered why we needed to change the campaign at all.

Amidst all this hullabaloo, enters this all-Pinoy, refreshing take on how we should really brand our local tourism, courtesy of Justin Vawter!

According to the blogger-slash-graphic designer, our next tagline should be “Pak Pinas!”, and honestly, that’s pretty much as Pinoy as it can get.

Imagine this: Boracay Ganern, Pak Pinas! or Vigan Ganern, Pak Pinas! or Cebu Ganern, Pak Pinas! Oh di ba? Pak na pak! #PakPinas Gora na!

His idea has so far met positive response, and we gotta admit, it does roll off the tongue better than “Experience the Philippines”.

Right now, we’re just scratching our heads why we didn’t think of this sooner.

What do you think of Pak! Pinas? Let us know your thoughts!
