Japanese minimalist and modernist designs are widely beloved aesthetics by many, designers and photographers included. And if you’ve always wanted to transform your room or space into the ultimate Pinterest-worthy modern abode, then take a page out of this: FORM Kouichi Kimura Architects in Japan just built a dream house in Shiga that’s a dream house for minimalists, as featured on Highsnobiety.
Made from mortar and galvanized steel, with its minimalist and utilitarian exteriors, the house contrasts the old neighborhood which is still filled with traditionally built houses. As the house was built for a photographer, the house comes with a studio and all-white gallery space.
Although primarily made of concrete and steel, wooden accents soften the feel of the space, making it feel warmer and cozier. It also features an open plan layout to maximize space and to make full use of natural light.
