You run to an ATM, only to be greeted by an equally long line of people withdrawing! It’s a familiar scene for many shopaholics and it’s frustrating.
Now, you can go to the mall and enjoy shopping without cash (or a debit or credit card). GCash recently launched the GCash App scan to pay feature so you can shop away just by using your phone.
GCash transforms your phone into a mobile wallet you can use to shop online, book movie tickets, send money, pay bills, and buy load. Now, you can purchase your favorite things offline through QR codes!
It’s easy. When you spot the “GCash accepted here” sign, simply open your GCash app, select the “Pay with QR” feature, and point your smartphone’s camera at a partner merchant’s QR code.
You can use this feature in Mercato, Kabisera, and Ibiza in Bonifacio Global City and all Glorietta 4 Ayala Cinemas. It is now being rolled out in malls, movie theaters, fastfood joints, and pharmacies, among others.
Since it works like a debit account, you can put money or “cash in” your wallet by going to a Globe store or partner outlets like Puregold, SM Business Centers, Robinsons Business Centers, Villarica Pawnshops, Tambunting Pawnshops, Cebuana Lhuillier Pawnshops, Expresspay, 7-Eleven branches, and TouchPay kiosks.
