The month of March is a special time for women everywhere. Proclamation No. 227 declares the month of March as Women’s Role in History Month, while Proclamation No. 224 declares that the first week of March each year as Women’s Week and March 8 as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day. Republic Act 6949 also celebrates March 8 as National Women’s Day.

But the latest legal act that represents women is the Republic Act 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women, which promotes the “the full participation and equitable representation of  women in all spheres of society, particularly in decision-making and policy-making processes in government and private entities in order to fully realize their role as agents and beneficiaries of development.”

To celebrate Women’s Month, we’re sharing a series of photos by Brazilian artist Carol Rossetti. These portraits have been done as early as October 2014, but we’d like to share them again to show how women should have equal rights as men, in time for this glorious celebration of womanhood. Make sure to share these on your girl friends’ social media accounts!
