One of the most timeless Christmas stories out there is A Christmas Carol, a novella written by Charles Dickens that celebrates the true meaning of Christmas. Now, there will be a movie exploring how the writer came up with the story and the trailer is out now!

The Man Who Invented Christmas is based on Les Standiford’s novel of the same name, which details how Dickens attempted to write a Christmas novel in six weeks after three failed novels. His book is rejected by publishers so he chooses to self-publish it.

The film stars Dan Stevens as Dickens, and he will be joined by Christopher Plummer as Ebenezer Scrooge, Jonathan Pryce as Dickens’ father John, Donald Sumpter as Jacob Marley, Miriam Margolyes as Mrs. Fisk, Morfydd Clark as Kate Dickens, Justin Edwards as John Forster, Ian McNeice as Chapman, Bill Paterson as Mr. Grimsby, and Anna Murphy as Tara and the Ghost of Christmas Past.

The film will premiere on November 3, 2017.
