I finally had my first Wolfgang’s Steakhouse experience. My family isn’t one to spend much on food, so this opportunity was—not to exaggerate or anything—a milestone for me. So this is the ultimate Wolfgang’s Steakhouse experience, as told by a fancy steakhouse first timer.
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse has 20 locations scattered across America and Asia. Currently, they have two locations here in the Philippines—in Resorts World Manila and The Podium—with another location soon opening in BGC.
I got to visit Wolfgang’s Steakhouse at The Podium, and since that location only seats up to 80 guests (although the place feels much bigger than that), the place manages to be quite intimate, yet not crowded nor isolated. The elegant table setting, cozy couches, and mahogany bar complete the restaurant’s ritzy ambiance.
The service was sublime—the waiters were more than attentive and welcoming. They were ever ready to dictate today’s lunch special and explain the choices on the wide-range selection menu.
For appetizers, we had their Soup of the Day, which turned out to be mushroom soup. Complementary red wine was served along with our main meal—600g of USDA Prime Dry-Aged Rib Eye Steak and Wolfgang’s Classic Burger. For dessert, we had Key Lime Pie.

Halfway through our lunch, the instrumental background music is put to a halt and is replaced by a woman singing Bruno Mars’s Marry You. The vocals of this woman pierced through the atmosphere—the first thought that popped into my head was “wow, the restaurant speakers system is really good.” But once I began to realize that the vocals seemed to get closer and closer, I turned around.
Much to our surprise, a flashmob was slowly assembling right in front of our eyes—all the diners in the room, save for the three tables that surrounded us, began rising from their seats and joined in on the acapella. It slowly began to dawn on us that we were witnessing a proposal!
The thing is, the massive event that just took place felt so natural in this setting. It just goes to show that Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is the perfect restaurant to enjoy the gift of friends and family, and even to celebrate the special moments in life—be it a birthday, an anniversary, a job promotion, or a proposal. But whether or not there’s an occasion, the Wolfgang’s Steakhouse experience is something everyone should get to taste at least once. Or twice. Or more.
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Podium is open from 11am to 12am on Mondays to Thursdays, and 10am to 12am on Fridays to Sundays. Their Resorts World Manila location is open from 12nn to 12mn on Mondays to Fridays, and 10am to 12mn on Saturdays to Sundays.
