For those who don’t know that there’s a SpongeBob musical, we’re here to tell you that there’s one, and it’s about to go to Broadway!

It premiered last year in Chicago Oriental Theater, and it will be soon moving to Broadway, with the title being changed from The SpongeBob Musical to SpongeBob SquarePants.

According to reports, the story will revolve around a volcano that’s about to erupt in Bikini Bottom, the town where the titular character and his friends live in.

SpongeBob SquarePants will star Ethan Slater as SpongeBob Squarepants, Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks, Danny Skinner as Patrick Star, and Gavin Lee as Squidward Tentacles. The lineup of people producing it is impressive: the book is by Kyle Jarrow, musical supervision by Tony Award winner Tom Kitt, and choreography by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli. Between them, they have worked on The Wildness, Next to Normal, and Newsies.

But the most impressive thing about the musical is the lineup of people creating the music. The stars who have signed on for the musical are: Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Jonathan Coulton, Dirty Projectors, the Flaming Lips, John Legend, Lady Antebellum, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, T.I., Yolanda Adams, Sara Bareilles, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, with an additional song by David Bowie.

SpongeBob SquarePants will open on Broadway on December 4.
