Thinking of buying a house? Why don’t you check out boxer Manny Pacquiao’s P400 million three-floor mansion in Forbes Park? He’s looking to sell it because neighbors are complaining that his visitors wore “shabby clothing.”

The visitors in “shabby clothing” are his constituents asking for financial assistance. According to him, “I may be as rich as some of them here, but my lifestyle remains the same and so is my heart. I am just a simple man. I will never change that.” He also said that as a “man of the masses,” he doesn’t really mind if his visitors are wearing “shorts and slippers.”

In an interview with Interview magazine in 2010, he said, “I’ve learned a lot from politics. It’s a very dirty business here in the Philippines. That’s the reason I’m in it now, to change the view of it and the overall way of politics here in the Philippines. I’m coming in as somebody who already has money, who doesn’t need money number one, doesn’t need to be corrupt, doesn’t need to take advantage of people. But also somebody who has been there – to help the people who are suffering, and that is where I was. To show them that it can be done.”

It’s nice to know that even if he has eight weight divisions titles in boxing, a position in Congress, and a career in basketball, he has kept his humble roots. Before his worldwide fame, he sold fish in his hometown of General Santos City.

Apparently, his neighbors don’t agree. Pacquiao has already apologized to his neighbors, and some understood why he was accommodating poor visitors.

The Forbes Park mansion has five bedrooms, many reception and dining areas, and an office, and will be for sale for P708 million. If you’re thinking of getting this house, make sure your visitors are well-dressed.
