Aside from visiting my dream cities, experiencing Qatar Airways has always been in my travel bucket list. And last Aug 2, 2016, that dream of mine came true, as yours truly journeyed to Tuscany region in Italy as a business class passenger to take part in Qatar Airways’ momentous inaugural flight from Manila to Pisa.
For this epic trip, I felt extra thrilled because Qatar Airways recently received 3 big awards in this year’s Skytrax World Airline Awards namely voted as World’s Best Business Class, Best Business Class Airline Lounge & Best Airline Staff Service in the Middle East. So yeah, as a travel enthusiast, the thought of flying with the world’s best is indeed a treat! But before I tell you all about my amazing Tuscany trip in Italy (which I will be posting in the next couple of weeks), I’d like to start off with my Qatar Airways business class experience, since my flight experience was like a holiday itself, and equally memorable as the destinations I got to see. =)
The Airline with the World’s Best Business Class Cabin
With its impressive inflight features, Qatar Airways is no doubt, the airline with the best Business Class cabin in the planet. Flying to Europe takes around 15 hours (more or less), so for a more comfortable & enjoyable journey, I highly recommend you save up for a Business Class ticket.
Qatar Airways’ Business Class cabin combines luxury, spaciousness and elegant design with passenger-focused service. In your very own private oasis, you’ll revel at the ultra-spacious cabin, up to 3,000 IFE entertainment options by Oryx One, delicious dine-on-demand cuisines, and their signature legendary hospitality.
I was warmly greeted and immediately assisted to the Business Class cabin upon entering the plane. Our flight attendant made sure I was comfortable and even offered me a drink as she handed me their menu. She also asked me if I wanted either a hot or cold towel to help me freshen-up.
My seat was a flat bed with a 180 degree recline. It had tons of legroom and a set of buttons that you can push if you wanna switch its position. Right in front of me, I found extra space for my shoes and other belongings plus, a usb port where I could charge my phone and laptop. Everything I needed was right at my fingertips. It felt like having my own personal oasis.
I was also given a luxurious Giorgio Armani amenity kit (another treat for Business and First Class passengers). Inside it were a pair of socks, ear plugs, comb, lip balm, and Armani lotion and perfume. Aside from the Giorgio Armani kit, I was also offered their very own sleepwear for added comfort during my sleep. Wearing their jammies was ultra comfortable.

My original agenda was to open my laptop and work while on-board, but the movies featured during the flight were just too irresistible. Oryx One is the enhanced in-flight entertainment system used in Qatar Airways. Passengers can enjoy up to 3,000 entertainment options from the latest blockbuster movies, TV box sets, music, games and much more. On selected aircrafts, passengers are also allowed to use their phone and Wi-Fi above 10,000 feet.
Their in-flight menu is simply….. oh my…. I’m speechless. Hands down…. I’m lost for words. Their menu has been specially designed, taking into account how our taste buds are altered at 30,000 feet. Their well-trained cabin crew is also able to provide advice on wine-pairing for your chosen menu.
As a Business Class passenger, I had the privilege of choosing from an ala carte dine-on-demand menu, allowing me to eat whenever and as often as I wanted to.
They offer a wide selection of special meals to cater to different dietary requirements, such as religious meals, young travellers, vegetarians and medical/health care meals.
Enjoy Luxury Service and Amenities at Best Business Class Airline Lounge
After around 9 hours, we landed at Hamad International Airport (Qatar Airways’ home), and waited for about 3 hours for our connecting flight to Pisa. During the lay-over, we got to stay in their Business Class Lounge (voted as Best Business Class Airline Lounge) to rest and eat. My jaw literally dropped when I realized how big and luxurious it was (no match from what we have in NAIA). It had all the luxury amenities and activities you can imagine. No wonder their’s is the best!

Apart from their state-of-the-art luxurious in-flight amenities and majestic Business Class Lounge, I must say that for me, it’s the heart-felt service that made me fall-in love with this brand.
I will never forget their genuine heart-felt service
Here’s a little story: I had a tummy ache en route to Pisa, so I had difficulty in sleeping during that 6 hour flight. One of the flight attendants noticed I was feeling uneasy, so she offered me medicine and made sure I was pampered throughout the journey. I was so touched with how they (the crew) took care of me during the entire flight. I experienced heart-felt concern, and I really appreciated it.
I was lucky enough to cross paths again with the flight attendants who helped me when I got sick. Saw them touring around Pisa as well, so we took the opportunity to take a groupfie
The best thing about it is that, they treat all guests with the same genuine care (observed them during every flight). This remarkable trait which they possess, is what sets them apart from the rest.
Flying with Qatar Airways truly makes every journey memorable and meaningful…. and I encourage you and every travel-loving Pinoy to also experience the signature service & hospitality of the airline legend, that is Qatar Airways.
