The New “DuckTales” Theme Song is Here and It’s LSS-Worthy!

DuckTales 2017

One of the most anticipated shows for ’80s and ’90s kids is DuckTales, an action-packed series that followed the adventures of Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in the world, and his great-nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. It was recently announced that there’s going to be a reboot starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, and now the theme song is here!

Watch the opening credits of DuckTales below:

The new DuckTales will star David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, Danny Pudi as Huey, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, and Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck. Guest stars include Miranda, Allison Janney, Margo Martindale, Paul F. Tompkins, Kimiko Glenn, Jim Rash, Josh Brener, Keith Ferguson, Eric Bauza and Corey Burton.

Miranda will be playing the role of Gizmoduck, the hero employed as McDuck’s personal bodyguard. Gizmoduck is the alter ego of Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, an accountant who is good at counting at fast speeds.

However, in the reboot, Crackshell-Cabrera will be playing a scientist.

The original DuckTales only lasted three years from 1987 to 1990, but it spawned four seasons, 100 episodes, a well-received film adaptation, and a global following.

The theme song was performed by singer-songwriter Felicia Barton.

The new DuckTales will premiere on September 23 on Disney XD (a Disney channel geared towards children aged 6-14). Even before its premiere, a second season was already ordered.
