I was not supposed to write about this… I really had no plan.

I have been apathetic by choice when in comes to politics for the longest time (probably you as well) and  I would have to admit that I’m one of those Filipinos who have lost confidence in my government due to the rampant corruption and failure to provide decent basic services for all. Philippine Politics for me is nothing but another huge real-life pathetic teledrama which I got tired of watching.

When I read the announcements on Facebook about the #MillionPeopleMarch on Aug 26, I didn’t have any doubts if I were to join on not for the simple reason that I would like to make a stand on this issue and that even for once, I can take part in a gathering with a really good cause.

I have high respects for all our working class heroes. Our travels have allowed us to witness how professional and hardworking Filipinos are, both here and abroad. It is actually one of the reasons why I personally never tire of promoting the beauty of my country. In my own little way, I know I am helping my fellow Pinoys sustain their jobs aside from ever reminding you, our dear readers on how precious and beautiful our land is. It  just breaks my heart to find out that most of the taxes deducted from us are enjoyed by manipulative ruthless scums which the people vote for every election! GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRR….

Anyways, I was determined to be there today… rain on shine! I still believe in the Filipino Spirit. I bravely went there alone to  attend and educate myself more about the issue. I didn’t bring my camera with me for, as I said a while ago, I really had no plan in writing about this. But by the time I arrived, I couldn’t help but take out my phone and starting clicking. The atmosphere was way too nice that it would be a waste not to capture some historic moments….

And so without further adieu, I’d like to show you some of my humble photos from my cellphone from today’s historic event

I hope that this rally will eventually spark CHANGE so we can provide a better Philippines for our children.

The event may not have reached the targeted 1 million attendees, but if you were also there like me, you’d agree that the day was very successful nonetheless! The real question is…. What are we to do next? I bet the coming days are gonna be quite exciting for the Philippines and I hope we won’t just sit there and watch the whole thing like another sloppy teleserye. No more “Ningas Kugon” please??

C’mon Philippines, WE DESERVE BETTER!!!!!!

Were you also there today? Do you think the event was successful?  I’d love to hear your thoughts! =)
