The Mandaluyong Animal Shelter Dogs Need Your Help

Lots of people love dogs. This love translates to owning a dog at home or being a dog parent, but it also manifests in people who actually dedicate their time to helping dogs in need.

This is exactly what the Help MAS Dogs Citizen Initiative is all about.

MAS dogs

MAS or the Mandaluyong Animal Shelter is actually a government dog pound headed by the city veterinarian and staffed by the animal control officers, also known as the dog catchers. MAS, in itself, does not have a volunteer program but due to the conditions of the place, kind-hearted individuals started volunteering to help make the dogs’ lives better.

Aside from canned or dry dog food and other treats that will definitely make the dogs happy, the MAS dogs need supplies as well. So far, these are the necessities:

  • Plastic mattings for the dog cage flooring
  • Deck brushes
  • Walis tingting
  • Cable ties
  • Detergent powder
  • Bleach
  • Betadine
  • Dog grooming supplies
  • Vitamins
  • Pails
  • Water dipper
  • Collars and leashes for medium-sized dogs
  • Large plastic containers with lids

Please know that the donations are best delivered on Saturday and Sunday afternoons between 1:30pm to 4:00pm so that the core volunteers could personally receive them.

For more information about their volunteer program and other items that can be donated, please email helpmasdogs@gmail.com. I’m sure they’d be super delighted for the support and our doggie friends will definitely be happy as well.

Don’t forget! They have adoptables, too! Who knows? You might be the one to give one of the lovely adoptables a fur-ever home.
