When in Manila, kickstart your summer by partaking in this big music event which is believed to be the “Woodstock” of the Philippines!

This coming March 2-4,  foreign and local artists with enthusiasts will troop to Mindoro’s pride to celebrate music and arts in paradise!  Since the success of 2011’s event and the impact it brought to eco-tourism in the island, it sure left audience clamoring for more!

Hubert d’Aboville’s property provides excellent venue for this year’s party once again, which is at the foot of Mt. Malasimbo, overlooking the UNESCO-recognized bay, declared as one of the “Human Reserve of Man and Biosphere” since 1979.

“It is so important for us to show how beautiful this country is… We have some of the most talented musicians in the world; it’s time the world knew our talents!” says Miro Grgic, the Croatian President of Volume Unit Entertainment, the company behind Malasimbo Festivals.  They seek to provide awareness on the country’s nature conservation through the best format possible – engaging, compelling, ethereal music, featuring both local and international musical acts and visual masterpieces.

A new set of visual artists to participate are Risa Recio, Agnes Arellano, Billy Bonnevie (who has had long experience dealing with the Mangyans), Niccolo Jose, Nikki Luna, and many more. They will supplement and complement the natural beauty of Mt. Malasimbo providing entertainment for your eyes while you are serenaded by Joe Bataan, an African-American-Filipino known as the King of Latin Soul from New York City, who will first time set foot to the country, and other local  musical geniuses such as Joey Ayala, Radioactive Sago Project, UP Dharma Down and many more! (check poster for the final line-up of performers)

The Department of Tourism has included Volume Unit Entertainment’s multi-festival initiatives as part of its 2012 eco-cultural tourism plans. In addition, corporate partners such as Royal Cargo, Nestlé, UNDP, the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary and Lafarge have pledged their support. Moreover, Hubbert Dolor, Mayor of Puerto Galera, is also strongly behind this endeavor.
