The IMPOSSIBLE Magic Show: Mystified in Manila

The Impossible Magic Show

Jaw-dropping. Yeah, jaw-dropping is the best way to describe what I saw during the first day of the “IMPOSSIBLE” magic show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last December 25th. I’ve always loved watching magic shows, whether live or on TV, more so when David Blaine became a thing and everybody started to imitate a trick or two.

Seeing some of world’s best performers up-close (Josephine Lee, Bello Nock, Annaliese Nock, P.D. Weisman) doing their death-defying stunts without any safety harnesses, or safety cushions induced butterflies and sweaty palms even for the spectators. Trust me: there were no quiet moments with all of the “Oohs”, “Aaahs”, shrieks, laughs, gasp, and the usual “Ayyyy!!!” during every stunt!

There were plenty of “What the…” moments during the street magic performance of Magical Bones, and a lot of “How did he do that???” moments during the performance of mentalist Chris Cox. This is simply the best magic show on the planet right now – no need to go to Las Vegas!

I strongly suggest that you, yes you and your family watch the show (it only runs until January 3!). Ticket prices ranges from Php150 to Php1800 and it is worth every peso as it is a also a 1-2 hour show.

I’ve done a ton of computer hardware, hotel, events, and food reviews throughout the years and this is the first review I’ve done for a show. I’ll personally rate it a 5 out of 5 (and I’m not that easy to please when it comes to television, movie, theater and live shows such as this).

It was so good, in fact, that I’ll even suggest to get the most expensive seats!

Why? Because of audience interaction and there is a ton of it! In fact, on most of them involve the audience, except for the dangerous stunts. Lucky for you if your seat ever gets selected for a trick, or if you get selected by the magician to perform with them on-stage.

Ben Hart really does get upclose with the audience for some of his tricks, especially with the kids – to their utmost delight. I’m also willing to pay Php1800 just to see Ben Hart do his thing, and to see Ali Cook levitate Jasmine Curtis-Smith who was also at the show! She’s not performing, by the way.

This is one of the best shows out there and could rival the best shows in Las Vegas. So why not treat yourself, impress your date, or even treat the entire family to this once-in-a-lifetime show?
