Once-in-a-lifetime occasions call for memorable dishes, which evoke feelings of joy and satisfaction. Brides- and grooms-to be go to great lengths planning the perfect wedding reception, taking referrals from friends and attending an assortment of wedding fairs. Debutantes go through the same nerve-racking journey, tasting every treat for their dessert buffet, never mind the havoc it may wreak on their custom made gowns. Parents of babes and toddlers could get even more frazzled because they want to throw the absolutely best birthday celebration for their littles ones!

The Blue Leaf, one of the country’s premiere venues for weddings, debuts, and other milestone events, together with Our Awesome Planet, the number one food and travel blog in the Philippines, promises an end to such stressful predicaments with The Big Banquet.

A food tasting event like you’ve never seen before, The Big Banquet brings together a curated lineup of the country’s top caterers on May 4, 2014, Sunday at The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion. There will be two time slots for ticket holders to choose from: 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm.

Planning for your special day will be a more pleasurable experience with 12 caterers setting up 12 different banquet services featuring their most unforgettably delightful dishes.

Eugene Sandejas of The Blue Leaf, says, “We want to give our clients the best possible service always. By gathering the most respected caterers under one roof, we’ve done all the legwork for them, so they can just relax and taste all these wonderful dishes in a spectacular setting at their own pace.”

Fine food and excellent service are the hallmarks of every celebration at The Blue Leaf, and The Big Banquet is one way of ensuring that these traditions live on. The Big Banquet is also an excellent opportunity for The Blue Leaf to take care of their clients by being of service to them even before their event takes place.

Anton Diaz, founder of Our Awesome Planet, says, “Food is one of the main ingredients of a happy celebration. We selected these caterers precisely because they make great food and offer good service. All you have to do is taste their selection, and see what you like best!”

It’s going to be a Sunday to remember as The Big Banquet will feature 12 caterers offering their signature dishes in the appetizer, main dish, dessert, and drink categories. Feast your tummies on Albergus’ Cranberry and Bacon Stuffed Champignon, Center Table’s Eastern Shrimp Spring Rolls, and Cuillere’s Lengua Sevillana. Hizon’s will serve a 48-Hour Roasted US Beef Belly while TJIOE preps up some Crispy Shell with Chicken Filling Yinyang Shrimp. You’ll definitely get a kick out of Juan Carlo the Caterer’s Salmon with Tequila Cream Sauce and K by Cunanan’s Amaretto Bread Pudding, so better get a move on for Josiah’s Sundried Tomato and Cream Cheese Stuffed Roast Chicken, Mesclun’s Roast Pork Belly with Lechon Rice, Red Chef’s Arroz Con Leche, Bizu’s Wild Mushroom Ragout and Melted Three Cheese Fondue in Phyllo with Microgreens in Citrus Vinaigrette, and Chef Florabel’s Quezo de Bola Cheesecake.

But more than filling their tummies with all these sumptuous entrees, guests will get to play food critics too! As they go through every station, they will be asked to jot down their thoughts on each culinary selection and rate it accordingly. The dishes which garner the best ratings will be featured on Our Awesome Planet!

This is the very first time that a curated spread of dishes from the country’s best caterers will be rated by diners, so The Big Banquet could very well determine who the best caterer is this side of town!

Catering companies Albergus, Bizu, Center Table, Cuillere, Florabel, Hizon’s, Josiah’s, Juan Carlo the Caterer, K by Cunanan, Mesclun, Red Chef, and TJIOE will take the spotlight on The Big Banquet.

This one-of-a-kind event will be open to 500 participants, open to soon-to-weds, debutantes and their families, and those about to celebrate a milestone or special occasion.

Tickets are at P500 per person, or P400 per person for purchase of more than one ticket. All net proceeds of the event will go towards the rebuilding efforts in Tacloban.
