Witness the mystic start of the exhibit at the opening ceremony on the evening of September 1, 2016. Doors open at 5 PM and ends at 9 PM. The exhibit will run on September 2-3, 2016 with viewing hours from 2 PM til 5 PM. Entrance is FREE.

“The Arcana,” or translated, “The Secret,” is an exhibit inspired by tarot cards from the Major Arcana of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. The Rider-Waite-Smith deck is one of the most popular tarot card decks there is -wealthy in symbolism and more neutral with aspects in religion. Ten of the cards from the major arcana are featured in the exhibit as inspirations/ interpretations of each artwork.

The artists had an idea that in the confusion of the modern world, people often lose sight of themselves. They look for truth in different things when in reality, the truth has always been there in front of them. Through a reader, divination in the form of tarot cards is one of the simplest tools that help show the truth to the seeker. Originally thought as wrong and sinful, the interpretation of the practice actually depends on how the seeker communicates with the reader and vice versa.

The artists use different mediums to properly interpret the truth about themselves and their experiences in life. The artworks range from paintings, to free standing installations to mixed media graphics to further impress the fact that the exhibit is telling different stories. The artworks also feature feminine elements to bind the show as sexuality binds the artists.

The multimedia exhibit aims to communicate and tell stories. The artworks narrate different aspects on the lives of the artists and also seek to find common ground with the viewers.
