Tempura Japanese Grill’s Ramen Bar: 4 New Dishes to Try
When in Manila, there are so many restaurants around us. It gets hard to keep track of, so I usually classify these restaurants into three categories: restaurants to try at least once, restaurants to try only with my parents (and their wallets), and restaurants to keep coming back to–with or without my parents and their wallets. :>Â
I’m excited to share why Tempura Japanese Grill restaurant falls under the third category.  🙂Â
My friends and I headed to Tempura Japanese Grill in Trinoma, where we were invited to their Ramen Bar. Â
All in all, we were a group of six, and we tried out four dishes: the Shoyu Chasu Ramen, the Miso Chasu Ramen, the Chili Miso Ramen, and the Steak Ramen.Â
My friend Noreen and I enjoying our drinks: Cucumber Mint and Four Seasons
Noreen made a video of all the dishes we tried:Â
We tried to be as observant as we could with the dishes served, so we could share them with you! All of us also voted our own favorites.Â
1.) Shoyu Chasu Ramen for P310
Shoyu sauce ramen with our signature slow cooked pork belly, topped with corn, bean sprouts, fish cake, and spring onions
Among all the four dishes we tried, this is the most affordable. It was the first dish we tasted, and we all loved the pork belly. I like how it was so tender and flavorful.
Another plus factor is how the soup was not oily. My first ramen experience in another restaurant I’ll choose not to name made me feel like I was drinking oil instead of soup! Good thing Tempura Japanese Grill‘s ramen was just right: flavorful, but not oily.Â
2.) Miso Chasu Ramen for P335
Miso ramen with our signature slow cooked pork belly, topped with bamboo shoot, marinated egg, fish cake, and spring onion leeks fungus
The soup in this second dish is thicker. I like its rich flavor, especially since I’ve always liked miso soup–so much so that I have a stash of instant miso soup at home! But from the color alone, you could tell the difference. The soup is richer, thicker, and definitely more flavorful. From the name of the dish itself, it also has what I liked about the first dish: the pork belly! Â
